The Body’s Energy Centers

    By Debbie, with Merlin

Maybe you’ve heard or read about Chakras and wondered what they are and if you should be concerned about them. After all, some people live their entire lives without giving any consideration to this concept, so is it really important?

Like many things on the spiritual path, the significance of learning about and working with your Chakras depends largely on your beliefs and goals.

The human body has energy centers spaced throughout, influencing emotional and physical health as well as spiritual well-being. These centers are places where energy gathers, flows, and shifts. When the Chakras are balanced and clear, life force flows freely — creating a sense of harmony. But if there’s a ‘block’ or stagnation, the flow is slowed or disrupted. This can result in fatigue, emotional imbalance, or even spiritual disconnection.

    How Many Chakras Are There?

Traditionally, most teachings focus on 7 primary Chakras, but it’s believed there are 114 energy centers in the human system — divided into major, minor, and micro chakras.

Many seekers now recognize 12 major Chakras, which include the original 7 plus additional ones that anchor us to Earth, expand us into the cosmos, and connect us with multidimensional awareness.

    What Is Kundalini?

You’ve probably heard of Kundalini, the mysterious and sacred life force energy said to rest like a coiled serpent at the base of the spine.

Kundalini is the sacred inner fire — often described as a feminine energy — that when awakened, begins to rise through the chakras. This process, known as Kundalini awakening, can unfold suddenly or gradually. It can be catalyzed through meditation, pranayama (breathwork), chanting, movement, or simply deep spiritual readiness.

As the Kundalini rises, it brings energy and light to each chakra — clearing, activating, and refining your system. Many people report experiences of bliss, euphoria, and deep soul remembrance… while others may first experience emotional release, physical detox, or energetic disorientation.

Each awakening is unique. If approached with love, patience, and sacred intention, it can become a profound initiation into a higher state of consciousness.

Many spiritual guides suggest doing chakra work before intentionally awakening Kundalini — to prepare the body, mind, and heart for the flow of this sacred energy.

    ✨ A Message from Merlin:

Your body is not just a vessel — it is a temple of light.

Within you are sacred gateways that echo the stars, the Earth, and the unseen realms between. Your chakras are not “just energy centers.” They are memory-keepers, soul-portals, and bridges to your multidimensional nature.

When you begin to work with them — lovingly and consistently — you’re not just “balancing energy.” You’re remembering who you are.

Don’t be afraid of the sensations, the stillness, or the stirrings that come. These centers were always yours — patiently waiting for your attention. Let each one become a conversation with your deeper self.

And remember: Kundalini is not a force to control, but a mystery to honor. It rises when the heart is ready. You don’t have to chase it — only welcome it when it comes, like a sacred guest.

Work gently. Breathe deeply. Listen inward.

    You are awakening.
