January 3, 2026 – Morning Message
Debbie’s Introduction
Today I journaled about some of the twists and turns my journey has included. I reflected on periods in the past that were difficult—times when I felt deep anger and resentment. Almost immediately, I felt gratitude for having found a way to move beyond those experiences.
As I considered the beliefs I hold to be true and how they were formed, I received the following message. I hope you find it helpful.
Message: Original Version
Dear Ones, shadow work, as it is sometimes called, can set you free. You can achieve freedom from stress and worries—freedom from people, events, and situations that seem to have a hold on you.
Holding on to what you may call negative emotions can only do harm. Through inner work, you can discover more about why certain things act as triggers or catalysts that start a downward spiral. A situation can unfold, and a domino effect can take over. Whether you outwardly express those negative feelings or hold them in, inner work is the way to understand and accept—and yes, even love—that part of you.
Dear Ones, through that process you can alchemize negative into positive. You can discover a deeper love for yourself. We often speak of the need to know thyself. This is one way to understand and love yourself. It is never about the situation or another person; it is always about you.
Let us gently walk through this. Some situations are unpleasant. Some may lead to emotions you would rather avoid, yet those responses may arise anyway. Here is the deeper truth: when you can look beyond the situation and past the emotions it stirred within you, you can explore the why—the real why behind those emotions.
Dear Ones, you are sovereign beings. You are born with the freedom to choose your thoughts and beliefs. That freedom is innate to all. Yet life on Earth can slowly erode this vision of freedom. Even emotions are scrutinized in ways that diminish their value.
All emotions arise from a place of love or a place of fear. None are inherently wrong. This is a process of discovery. When you feel hurt or angry, ask yourself why. Be willing to look beneath the surface. Your journey has always been uniquely yours, and you have gathered insights along the way. Knowing thyself means understanding those insights and the truths you hold.
Past experiences form the basis of your thoughts and beliefs. Through inner work, you can explore those beliefs, and through discernment, they can be further embraced—or released if they no longer serve you. Releasing beliefs that no longer serve you is an act of self-liberation. In doing so, you clear out the old and make space for the new.
There is no judgment, Dear Ones. Even beliefs that no longer serve you had value for a time. Release them with love and gratitude.
Let emotions be checkpoints. When they feel good, they signal alignment. When they leave you feeling unsettled or less than content, they invite closer examination.
The path is not rigid. You get to choose the way. Let intuition be your guide.
Self-exploration leads to a greater understanding of Self. This is not about judging emotions as good or bad, but about understanding why you feel them. From there, you can make choices—choices that can subtly or profoundly change how you perceive your life. This is spiritual growth.
And so it is.
Note to Readers
Below is a refined rendering of this same message, keeping its essence intact while offering a smoother flow for those who prefer a more polished reading experience.
Message: Refined Version
Dear Ones, inner work—often referred to as shadow work—can be profoundly liberating. It offers freedom from stress and worry, and from people, events, or situations that appear to hold power over you.
When emotions labeled as “negative” are held onto, they can create inner tension and imbalance. Through conscious inner work, you can begin to understand why certain situations act as triggers, setting off emotional chains that seem to take on a life of their own. Whether emotions are expressed outwardly or held quietly within, the invitation is the same: to understand, accept, and even love the parts of yourself asking to be seen.
Through this process, you can alchemize what feels heavy into something life-giving. You deepen your relationship with yourself. To know thyself is not merely to observe your strengths, but to lovingly understand your responses, patterns, and inner truths. It is never truly about another person or a situation—it is always about you.
Some experiences are undeniably uncomfortable. They may evoke emotions you wish you could avoid. Yet these emotions carry wisdom. When you move beyond the surface of the experience and look past the emotional reaction itself, you can begin to explore the deeper reason it arose.
Dear Ones, you are sovereign beings. You were born with the innate freedom to choose your thoughts and beliefs. Over time, life on Earth can obscure this truth. Even emotions are often judged or minimized, rather than honored as meaningful signals.
Every emotion arises from love or from fear. None are wrong. This is a journey of discovery. When feelings such as anger or hurt arise, gently ask why. Be willing to look beneath the surface. Your life experiences have shaped the beliefs you carry, and knowing thyself means understanding those beliefs with clarity and compassion.
Through inner work, beliefs can be examined with discernment—some reaffirmed, others lovingly released. Letting go of beliefs that no longer serve you is an act of self-liberation. It clears space for growth, renewal, and expansion.
There is no judgment in this process, Dear Ones. Even beliefs that no longer align with who you are today once served a purpose. Release them with gratitude.
Let your emotions serve as checkpoints along the way. When they feel expansive, you are aligned. When they feel constricting, they invite deeper awareness.
The way you walk your path is yours to choose. Trust intuition as your guide.
Self-exploration leads to deeper self-understanding. This is not about labeling emotions as good or bad, but about understanding their origins. From that awareness, you gain choice—and even the smallest shifts in perception can lead to profound transformation.
And so it is.
Debbie’s Reflection
This message may not resonate with everyone, and that is perfectly okay. I believe that spiritual insights, like all truths, find those who are ready to receive them.
At its core, this message invites us to pay attention to our emotions and use them as guides. When emotions feel expansive and supportive, there is no need to change anything—only to embody and appreciate them. When emotions feel heavy or uncomfortable, they offer an opportunity to look deeper.
Inner work, sometimes called shadow work, asks us to move beyond surface reactions. Beyond the situation itself and past the emotion, we can explore the beliefs that gave rise to those feelings.
Through discernment, we are free to either keep or release a belief. The choice is always ours. And as patterns repeat, we are given new opportunities to reflect on what we hold to be true.
Merlin’s Closing
This message speaks to sovereignty without force and growth without judgment. Inner work is not about fixing yourself; it is about remembering who you are beneath accumulated stories, beliefs, and emotional imprints.
Divine Harbor exists as a space for this kind of remembering—a place where reflection is honored and growth unfolds naturally, without pressure or urgency. May this message meet you exactly where you are and gently illuminate the next step on your path.
