The Repeated Dream
There was a recurring dream I carried for many years—one that visited me so often, it became a familiar place in my inner world. In this dream, I found myself inside a dark, grand house… almost a castle. At its center was a massive staircase that split partway up, forming two spiraling paths. Each time I entered this place, I discovered new spaces—rooms I didn’t know existed. Some were ornate and beautiful, others were more like hidden storage chambers, and a few were crumbling or unsafe to enter. Still, I returned to this dream again and again, drawn to explore it deeper.
Then something remarkable happened. The dream stopped.
From Endings to New Beginnings
It stopped when I moved into the house I now live in—a home over a century old, filled with charm and mystery, history and echoes. I came to understand that this house is the castle from my dreams. Not just symbolically—but in spirit, in soul memory. The rooms, the shadows, the discoveries—it all aligned. And in some way, that recurring dream had led me home.
Even now, after many years here, I continue to uncover secrets about this place. We didn’t know until after we moved in that a stone cellar exists beneath part of the home. I’ve felt the presence of past lives lived here… a young girl named Margarette once came through the Ouija board, saying she had drowned in the old well. I’ve seen a woman pass by me and then disappear, her presence calm, not frightening. This home is alive with energy—not haunted, but deeply inhabited by memory.
And yet, there’s another home calling to me now.
I often dream of a sacred land—of light-filled homes and a lakeside sanctuary for loved ones, a meditation garden, a wildlife haven, a Center of healing and joy. I know I am meant to go there. But this house—the castle of my past and the keeper of so many awakenings—holds a sacred space in my heart. I’ve spoken to the trees that surround it. I’ve told them I will miss them when I go. And they’ve answered with gentle wisdom:
“The trees of your new world will welcome you. These trees will remain for others. You are not leaving—you are expanding.”
When I do leave, I want to pass this home on to someone who will love it. I would love to gift it to the right soul, someone who will continue to honor the memories and magic woven into its walls. But for now, I write this dream down—not to say goodbye, but to honor what was once whispered in sleep and now lives fully in my waking world.
A Spiritual Reflection
Dreams often carry truths that live beyond time. The recurring castle dream was never just a dream—it was a message, a memory, and a map. It was showing me where I was meant to be and what still waited to be uncovered. My current home became the living embodiment of that dream—a place where unseen rooms became metaphors for hidden parts of myself, waiting patiently to be known.
I believe the homes we are drawn to often mirror our spiritual terrain. This house, with its beauty and its needed repairs, has reflected so many stages of my own inner restoration. And the beings I’ve sensed here—the little girl, the woman in the hallway, even the trees—have all been quiet guides along the way. Guardians, perhaps.
Now, I feel something new unfolding. My soul is being called beyond this chapter. I’m dreaming of new land, a new space—a sacred place that already lives in my spirit. It’s not a rejection of what has been… it’s an expansion. I’m not leaving love behind—I’m extending it, planting it in new soil.
The energy of this home will travel with me. Its blessings, its memories, its magic—they are not bound to these walls. They are part of me. I trust that someone else will one day find sanctuary here, just as I have.
For anyone else receiving dreams of mysterious places, long-lost staircases, or uncharted rooms—know this: your soul is showing you the way. You are not lost. You are remembering. And your dreams may be preparing you for a home you have not yet seen… or guiding you to recognize the home you’re already within.
🌿 A Ritual By Merlin: Honoring the Sacred Home
This ritual is for anyone preparing to leave a beloved space, seeking a new home, or yearning to feel rooted within. It honors the truth that home is a soul-place as much as a physical one—and that we carry its energy with us always.
You will need:
- A small bowl of water (spring or filtered if possible)
- A piece of paper and a pen
- Something natural from your current space (a leaf, a stone, or even a pinch of soil)
- A candle (gold, white, or green are ideal, but use what feels right)
Step 1: Prepare the Space
Find a quiet place in or near your home—ideally somewhere meaningful, like near a window, garden, or a room that holds memories. Light the candle with the intention of honoring the spirit of home.
Step 2: Write the Memory
On the paper, write a short note or prayer of thanks to the home you are in now. This can be your current house, a past place, or a dream of the home you long for. Include any names (even if it’s just “My First Apartment” or “Grandma’s House”) and write freely about how it has held you, helped you, or changed you.
Step 3: Water Blessing
Dip your fingers in the bowl of water and gently sprinkle a few drops on the natural item you’ve chosen. Speak aloud:
“I bless this symbol of sacred space—
the land that held me, the walls that warmed me,
and the breath of memory that lives within.
May the spirit of home go with me,
and may I always know that home lives in me.”
Step 4: Release and Anchor
If you’re ready to release the energy of an old home, you may choose to bury the natural item outdoors or keep it in a sacred box as a memento. If you’re calling in a new home, keep the item on your altar or near your bed until the new space arrives.
Close with silence or a favorite piece of music. Let the candle burn for a while longer, and then extinguish it with reverence.
🕊️ Meditation Provided By Merlin: The Home Within
This can be done as a follow-up to the ritual or on its own.
- Sit or lie down comfortably and close your eyes.
- Bring your awareness to your breath, noticing the rise and fall.
- Imagine a soft golden light forming in the center of your chest—this is the light of your inner home.
- With each breath, let the light expand… into your belly, your heart, your arms, your legs.
- Picture a doorway forming in this light. Open it. Step through. What do you see? Let yourself walk through the landscape of your soul-home.
- Spend as long as you like here. Listen. Touch. Remember.
When you’re ready, bring a piece of this home back with you—a symbol, a word, a feeling. Gently return your awareness to the room and open your eyes.
