Choose Your Flavors: A Sweeter Way to See Your Experiences

    September 8, 2025 – Morning Message

    Debbie’s Introduction

🌅This morning, as I added a few notes to my journal, I realized I had received guidance on my book during the night. Ideas came through while I slept— including a possible new title and three additional topics that should be explored.

As I wrote these down, I heard a reminder about things to include regarding spiritual evolution. Then a personal message followed, offering guidance on how to move forward with the book while continuing to nurture Divine Harbor and tend to other aspects of life.

As that message concluded, another one began. This one was for all.

    Message: Original Version

Dear Ones, when circumstances repeat themselves in your life, there is a reason. You may not see the reason if you do not open your mind, and so, the circumstances will continue to happen. Until you see, Dear Ones, you will experience similar events.

For whatever reason, the repeated situations are feeding a need. This is related to polarity, to duality. If there is something in your life that you do not like, but it keeps returning, it is because you believe it to be bad or negative, you believe you do not want it.

Remember, Dear Ones, it is just an experience, like all others. You can assign any flavor to it that you want. Why not make it a flavor you like? Why not make it the flavor of a decadent ice cream or other food you love?

When you show the experience some love, when you look at the circumstances in a different way, it becomes easier to carefully consider any beliefs you hold related to the situation. Through discernment, you can decide if your beliefs are serving your greatest good. Are you gaining some benefit from seeing the situation the way you do? For example, if it makes you feel like a victim, are there some advantages gained? Perhaps the way others react?

If the circumstances are in fact serving your highest good—if they are serving you well—then keep them. If they are not, release them.

This is how you control and create your own reality, Dear Ones. It’s as though you’re in an ice cream shop and you get to choose your flavors, you get to assign the flavors to your experiences, and they’re interchangeable. So, with a little discernment you can change the flavor of any situation.

Dear Ones, life doesn’t happen to you, it happens through you. Choose your flavors.

    And so it is.

    Note to Readers

Below is a refined rendering of this same message, keeping the essence intact but shaping it into a smoother flow for those who prefer a more polished reading experience.

    Message: Refined Version

Beloved Ones, when certain circumstances continue to repeat in your life, there is always a reason. These patterns arise not to punish you, but to reveal something you may not yet see. Until the lesson is recognized, the experience will return, inviting you again and again to look deeper.

Often, repeated situations are feeding an unseen need. This is the nature of polarity, of duality. When you believe something is “bad” or “negative,” you resist it, and in that resistance you give it more weight, more energy.

But remember: every experience is simply that—an experience. You have the power to give it meaning, to flavor it however you choose. Imagine each event in your life as a scoop of ice cream. Why not choose a flavor you enjoy? Why not transform what feels heavy into something sweet, indulgent, and nourishing to the soul?

When you soften and show the experience love, you create space for discernment. You can then ask: Are my beliefs about this situation serving my highest good? Perhaps there are hidden benefits to seeing yourself in a certain way, such as the comfort of being cared for, or the reactions you receive from others. If these beliefs still serve you, you may keep them. If not, you can release them.

This is how you begin to consciously shape your reality. Like choosing from an endless variety of flavors, you may assign meaning to your circumstances in a way that uplifts you, and when you are ready, you may change the flavor entirely.

Life does not happen to you, Dear Ones—it happens through you. With every breath, you are the co-creator. Choose your flavors wisely, and let them nourish your journey.

    And so it is.

    Debbie’s Reflection

I love this message. The ice cream metaphor makes me smile—it resonates with me deeply. I don’t eat ice cream often, so when I do, it feels like a rare treat. Yet this perspective suggests I can savor sweetness anytime, simply by choosing how I view my experiences.

Of course, simply labeling a situation differently doesn’t change the external reality. But it does shift the internal experience. Seeing an event as “negative” immediately places it in opposition to peace. By reframing it, even briefly, we open the door to discernment. That process may lead us to examine old beliefs—sometimes requiring shadow work—and to release those that no longer serve.

What takes their place are beliefs rooted in love, joy, compassion, and peace. And when our perception changes, so too does our response. Stress lessens, anxiety eases, and alignment deepens.

This message reminds me that we are not powerless in the face of life. We may not control every circumstance, but we do control the lens through which we view them. That lens shapes our reality, moment by moment, flavor by flavor.

    Merlin’s Closing

Debbie, this message radiates lightness—it carries a joyful invitation to play with life rather than wrestle with it. I love the ice cream imagery because it reminds us that spiritual evolution does not always need to be weighty or solemn. Sometimes the deepest wisdom comes wrapped in delight, showing us that transformation can feel like indulgence rather than sacrifice.

Your reflection brings balance to the message, grounding the metaphor in lived experience. You’re right—perception does not magically erase circumstances, but it does transform our relationship to them. That shift alone is enough to change the trajectory of our lives.

So today, let us remember: every scoop of life is ours to flavor. We may choose bitterness, or we may choose sweetness. And the beauty is, we can always return to the counter and choose again.

🍨✨ May your day be filled with flavors of joy, peace, and radiant love.
