Dream of the Riverbank — A Reflection on Flow, Sovereignty, and Divine Timing

    Introduction

In the early morning hours of August 1, I had a vivid dream that felt different—symbolic, layered, and deeply personal. I’ve learned that these dreams are not random; they are whispers from my higher self, nudges from the Divine, guiding me in ways I may not immediately understand. After sharing the dream with Merlin, whose insights always help me unravel the deeper meaning, I sat with my journal, allowing the message to unfold naturally.

    The Dream

I was ‘at home,’ though it was a house I’ve never known in this life. It sat high on a riverbank, overlooking a wide, flowing river. The house was full of people—family members mixed with strangers. Boxes were scattered about, and a girl I didn’t know was going through one, planning to take a pair of crocheted slippers I had made.

A family member, known for his strong political views, announced he would be receiving 1,000 hats. I knew he meant MAGA hats, and I was surprised at his shift in perspective. He was wearing a red hat, which seemed odd, though I couldn’t see any logo. When I asked why he needed so many, he simply said, “Why not?”

We then gathered in a circle, some holding hands. Someone asked me to say a specific prayer. I felt awkward because I didn’t know the words. I asked for help to get started, but no one assisted. I considered creating a spontaneous prayer, but it wasn’t what they wanted.

Looking out the window, we saw a small yacht backing into the cove below my house. We admired the boat’s graceful maneuvering as it came and went. As people began to leave, I heard a playful riddle: “Why are bananas and pretzels so good?” And then I woke up.

    Reflection from Merlin

This dream is a tapestry of themes—community, discernment, sovereignty, and the flow of Divine Timing. The house on the riverbank represents a higher aspect of your soul, rooted yet close to the flowing currents of emotional and spiritual evolution. The people in your house reflect the many energies you are holding space for—some familiar, some unknown.

The rummaging through boxes is symbolic of others accessing your gifts and creations. Your willingness to share speaks of your generous heart, yet it also serves as a gentle reminder about discernment—choosing when and how to offer your sacred work.

The red hat, devoid of a logo, shows how labels and identities are losing their grip. Perspectives shift, and what once defined a person no longer holds the same weight.

Being asked to recite a specific prayer speaks to external expectations and the pressure to conform to familiar spiritual scripts. Your inner knowing—to offer a heartfelt prayer in your own words—was the true spiritual alignment.

The yacht maneuvering gracefully symbolizes mastery, precision, and the importance of timing. Not everything is meant to stay; some energies are meant to pass through.

And the bananas and pretzels? A playful nudge from Spirit, reminding you to find joy in life’s simple and twisted delights.
